Welcome to the Mount! We’re excited you are joining us to climb to New Heights! All new students (both first-year and transfer) are required to attend one of these Orientation dates:

  • June 20-21
  • July 11-12
  • July 25-26

Orientation is a fun and informative experience designed to help you transition from high school to college. During Orientation, you will meet your future classmates and student leaders, confirm your course schedule, engage with faculty and staff, learn about campus resources, and more!

Here is a brief outline of the schedule:

9 a.m.

Check-in: Mount Roar login, meet your Orientation Guides, pick up MSJ swag, and more!

*Continental Breakfast available

10 a.m.

Morning Presentations:

  • Dr. Williams, President
  • Meet the Provosts and Deans
  • Supporting Our Newest Lions (FYE, CORE 115, The Learning Commons)

Preview Plans for the Afternoon:

  • Students, dismissal with Orientation Guides to begin rotations
  • Families/Guests to begin rotations

11am-4 pm

Rotations: Students and their guests will enjoy lunch together but then proceed on separate paths throughout the afternoon.

Required Athletics session for all incoming athletes (Harrington Gym)

*Guests depart at 5pm

Dinner and evening activities

Students choosing to not stay for the overnight can leave at this time. (Students received an email asking for their overnight preference or indicated it during Orientation reservation process.)

The schedule maximizes your time on campus while integrating you into the resources and programming available to you—and, there will be plenty of time for fun and connecting with new classmates!
